New year, new thread. [Here’s a link to [last year’s thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=352152)} This is the thread for the group of Seattle-area dopers that get together most weeks for pub trivia competitions. Most weeks, we go the The Old Pequliar, where **Interrobang!?** is one of the quizmasters and the quiz is on Tuesday. Sometimes, we go to Monday quiz at Kate’s Pub or The Irish Emmigrant. We occasionally go someplace else entirely. All of the local quiz venues are described on [www.quiznight.net](http://www.quiznight.net). If you’re interested in joining us, post. We love to meet other trivia buffs, and you can share in our winnings (when we win, which happens a few times each year). Here’s where you look to find out where the teams going in a given week and who plans to attend. ---

So, will we go to the Old Pequliar tonight? I know **stargazer** said in the other thread that she couldn’t make Tuesday. I’m available tonight. For that matter, I’m available all week. I gotta get me one of those newfangled ‘life’ things. ---

I want to be more available, and cripes, sometimes I sit at work and wonder what must be going on Trivia tonight. Unfortunately, my work has eaten up much of my time, and I’m often too tired to do much other than sleep in the time I _do_ manage to get off. The only time I’ve had much chance to speak to my own mother was when they came out to visit, I got a little time off (VERY little, despite asking for the time off months prior), and I was often dragging her and the rest of my family to work with me, so I’d get a chance to see them. I love my job and I hate it, too. New Year’s resolutions, imposed by Mr. Stasaeon, is that I’ve got to cut back and take some more time for myself, and stop letting them push me around so often. Sound in theory, let’s see if I can make it work. This ramble brought to you by subscribe-o-vision! When you need to subscribe, why say two words when only a novella will do? ---

Did you guys hear that the topic of this week’s requested round is Electrical Engineering? Because that’s the topic. Enjoy. **picunurse** , Seth (one of the other hosts) went to the Lockspot for their quiz last night.
