Wow, you managed to find a reading that’s even more tortured that the Post’s.
Cunty, actually.
You mean the Chris Matthews on Imus clip where he says “They’re working through Cheney, of course, who always wants to kill…”? I looked on youtube, but couldn’t find it. It’s on Fox’s web site, but I can’t get the clip to work on my computer. I did see it shown on Fox sometime yesterday, but I didn’t get the rest of the quote for context. He was talking off the cuff on Imus, though, not on his own show.
No I was talking about the incident of FOX trying to set Rice up on a date with a woman.
Found the transcript. Odd, but only in a curious sort of way:
http://www.state.gov/secretary/rm/2005/54081.htm
I did, however, discover this:
There’s actually a “Rice Gay” gay and lesbian SCHOLARSHIP. ![]()
A fuller quote from that mean, mean Boxer lady (by way of CNN).
Yes I get it, that she is including herself in that category, but her comment isn’t any kind of newsflash or anything. I think a majority of Americans did support making others pay a price when they elected Bush and company to a second term, though they may have changed their minds later. In any case people in power will always make decisions which will not directly affect them and this is nothing new. I have not seen the Fox News take on this, but judging past behavior I am sure they are spinning it into some insult tantamount to calling Rice a barren spinster or something. Boxer’s words may hold truth but they are useless really and bring nothing new to the table that people were not already aware of.
Hell, I’ve been more affectionate than that with men, and I’m straight.
Now, if the New York Post and FOX and all them had made a big fuss about Condi’s “Birth Pangs of the New Middle East” stuff (i.e. people killing each other off in large numbers is OK because the old Middle East was no prize, we’ve got to move forward to a new Middle East, and this is how we get there), then I’d be willing to cut them some slack on this.
But as it is, forget it.
Fixing link: the New Middle East
Of course there’s nothing newsworthy about what Boxer said, but the right isn’t upset about Boxer’s actual words, they’re pretending to be outraged about imaginary words that she never spoke (just like when they pretended to be outraged about John Kerry “insulting” the troops). I wouldn’t try to argue that Boxer said anything especially insightful or important. I’m arguing that she didn’t say anything offensive or insulting.
Barney Frank is an opponent of Social Security reform. Who pays the price for his actions? Not him.
In fact, gay men in general have children at much lower rates than the heterosexual population. Who pays the price when they cast votes that will have consequences long after they die? Not them.
If it’s factually true, it’s not slimy, right?
What price?
That’s correct.
It does seem like the Bushistas are extremely defensive about Condi’s rumored preference for comfortable shoes. I’ve got news for them, the only people that would care is THEM.
