Smack your forehead all you want but your legal experience aside, the federal government maintains an explicitly religious system for interpreting and applying Sharia law, which is a pretty explicit embrace of theocratic principles. We have our own nutjobs in the US, too, like Judge Roy Moore, but they tend to be marginalized when it comes to trying to project their beliefs on their official pulpit. And while the tribal areas of Pakistan may be abolished it doesn’t change the fact that government control of those areas is weak at best. There is a reason that the US snuck into Pakistan to snatch bin Laden, and it isn’t because we didn’t want to bother with the paperwork. Stranger ---

**Stranger** , with the greatest of respect and not to furtfet the hijack, but i) No they don’t, since FSC has limited jurisdiction and need SC confirmation (for instance they have declared interest unIslamic several times and have been told to sit down, plus only Parliament can being in laws not the Court, as is well settled) and ii) This not 2009 anymore. There are over a hundred thousand troops in the former FATA On topic. I wonder how much of this is due to the fact that he (Fauci) has suddenly become a public figure and the inherent threat to such figures by nut jobs? ---

This is maybe one of the biggest disgraces in our nations history. This fucking guy is trying to save lives, and is getting threatened for it. If America allows this guy to step down, and Trump is re-elected, then the United States can go to fucking hell. I hope we are destroyed by nuclear war. ---

I guess he’s getting too popular. Apparently there’s a real and growing movement to name him 2020’s [Sexiest Man Alive.](https://nypost.com/2020/04/02/petition-to-make-dr-anthony-fauci-sexiest-man-alive-gaining-steam/) IMO, he’s the most deserving candidate ever considered for this honor.
