# Seeking a website to calculate the exact distance between 2 map locations

I’m writing a non-fiction article. I want to determine the exact as-the-crow-flies distance (in miles, or even tenths of a mile) between two points around the NYC metro area. By my rough estimation looking at a map they are around 75 miles apart, but I want a _precise_ number. I want to plug in the 2 locations by map coordinates and have the site tell me their distance apart. Does such an online resource exist?

If you have the longitude/latitude you can use [this](http://jan.ucc.nau.edu/~cvm/latlongdist.html) calculator.

[Here is another calculator](http://www.indo.com/distance/) that will compute the distance between two cities by name, or by lat/long co-ordinates.

Just combine the sites given above with the [Terra Server](http://www.terraserver.com/search/search.asp). You can enter and address and it will give you latitude and longitude for it.
