There is a classical piece often used in nature scenes in movies, in fact, so often that it has become a cliche and used to humorous effect. I seem to remember it in an animated short called something like “Godzilla and Bambi.”

I created a midi file and posted it to [www.seiglefamily.com/data/nature.mid](http://www.seiglefamily.com/data/nature.mid)

Anyone know what it’s called, composer, etc.?

I want to use part of it as a soundtrack for a home video.

ETA: Bambi Meets Godzilla uses a different tune.

The music in “Bambi Meets Godzilla” was “The William Tell” overture, not the Lone Ranger part, but the part before that.

Right, you’re talking about two different pieces. Bambi was from William Tell, but your midi tune was from Peer Gynt.

…which I have associated all my life with Popeye crawling out of the sewer in the 1943 cartoon [Happy Birthdaze](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0150823/plotsummary).

Here is what I used it for, at about 5:15, but it needs some context so if you must jump into the middle, try 4:45. Nod to Twoflower in the closing credits.
