I found [Cuba: A Musical Journey](https://a.co/d/d1SL7Fr) in a box of old CDs my dad was getting rid of, and I love it. Good ol’ dad! I’m also a big fan of [Por Una Cabeza.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJ1aTPM-dyE&list=RDSJ1aTPM-dyE&start_radio=1) You’ll probably recognize the tune, because usually it’s just played as an instrumental. Oh, and one more: [Seu Jorge](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-Sx_NgkpTs&list=RDl-Sx_NgkpTs&start_radio=1) does acoustic versions of David Bowie songs … in Brazillian Portugese, but that’s Spanish-ish, right? 🙂 ---

He was fond of telling the story that when he was young and taking any available work in NYC, he got a call from someone who had just received a diplomatic posting in South America, and needed Nico to teach him everything he could possibly learn about Spanish in the week before he left. So he and Nico met for a couple of hours a day, and Nico taught him everything he could in that time. At the end of the week, Nico said “You’ve progressed quite well, and you’ll have an easier time once you’re living somewhere that you can immerse yourself in the language and culture. Speaking of which, you’ve never told me - where is it you’re going?” To which the young diplomat replied “Brazil!”. At which Nico could only say “Well, the very best of luck to you!”, while cursing himself for not asking days ago! ---
