Seeking some help with Craigslist

Sob stories are the worst; but I have also noticed that stupid lowball offers seem to come from people who also can’t capitalize or spell.

After selling a bunch of stuff prior to a move, I did learn to not even reply to anyone who can’t compose an e-mail sounds half educated. Those are always the ones who flake out at the last minute, or show up and offer less than they agreed to.

Some excellent advice. Thank you all.

I figure that so many people send sob stories or explain they are mothers wanting something for their children because one time - way back when - one person felt sorry for someone with a sob story and gave them something for free.

That was all it took. From then on, the word spread and now, when people advertise something on CL, they get many responses from idiots looking for something for nothing.
Talk about the inability to compose an e-mail. Here is the latest reply I got:

Hi, I am interested in the Sony 32" LCD TV KDL32S3000 you still o is sold Call me at xxx-xxx-xxxx

When you post something on Craigs a big part of your audience is people for whom bargaining is one of the great pleasures of life, they go to flea markets, junkshops, auctions, and the greatest craziness of all, the automobile parts swap meet. Their motto, Is that the best you can do on it? Read Death On The Installment Plan by Celine, it’s about growing up in a huge crazy flea market/bazaar in the late 19th century, crazy stuff.

Charlie - I’ve been having a rough patch with Craigslist the past couple weeks, too, so… hey, it’s not just you.

Also, there are alot of stolen items on Craigslist.

Why else does this guy have a brand new, never out of the box Ipad for sale at half the price?

I actually saw this show where this guy uses fake credit cards with stolen numbers. to go to Best Buy and buy some high end item like a notebook. He then puts it on Craigslist and normally sells it within an hour or so.
