# Self-cleaning oven - around the edges

I cleaned my oven today, i.e., turned it to “clean” for about four hours, and then washed out the inside with plain water.
However, around the sides of the door are a great deal of greasy(?) marks. Last time I did this, I cleaned them off with formula 409, but they returned almost instantly, and within a couple of weeks, had migrated inside the oven.
What should I use to clean them off once and for all?

Try cleaning or replacing the door gasket. The self-cleaning cycle can’t burn off grease deposits under the gasket, but it can heat them up enough to make them migrate - out from the gasket to the oven door facing.
Or you could nuke it from orbit - it’s the only way to be sure. 😃
