# Self driving cars are still decades away

I have a Tesla and the cruise control doesn’t work right and one almost caused a major accident. [Here is a thread](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/tesla-software-not-ready-for-prime-time/983803) I started on software issues on my 2023 Tesla Y. There is no way I would trust a self-driving Tesla anytime in the near future.
