In order from most important to least: Canadian British Columbian North American Vancouverite Lower Mainlander I find it odd that few of the American responders list ‘American’. Is this because you don’t identify as ‘American’ or is it that you are assuming that it’s so obvious that you’re leaving it out? ---

Canada Atlantic Canada New Brunswick Moncton Moncton North I would say near the Tim Hortons but we have the highest number of Tims per capita. Everyone in town is near the Tim Hortons. ---

Another Clevelander, here, though I don’t self-identify my region as either “North Coast” (which I think of as specifically the culture/recreation area directly north of Downtown) nor as Western Reserve (I know the term and its history, but just don’t use it much myself). In order of increasing size: (Lakewood) West Side Inner Ring Cleveland area Northeast Ohio (Ohio) The Great Lakes The Midwest The North (The US) (North America) The West (Earth) The Sol System The Sirius Sector The Orion Arm (The Milky Way) The Local Group The Virgo Supercluster (Items in parentheses I don’t consider to be “regions”, but I’m putting them in to show their place in the hierarchy) For my childhood home, and where my mom still lives, add in “Detroit Shoreway” and “Near West Side” at the top of the list, and remove “Lakewood” and “Inner Ring”. Lakewood also has defined neighborhoods, and some of them like Birdtown have strong identities, but my neighborhood isn’t one of them. ---
