Selfish SOB Hub

I really love the part where YOUR psychological issues are to be respected and HIS psychological issues are to be ridiculed. The guy has a problem with sex, stemming from a past bad experience. It’s not that he’s struggling with self esteem issues, and reacting poorly, he’s just selfish.

Honestly, it’s a two way street. You want him to respect you and your issues, why not try respecting him and his issues too? You haven’t mentioned anything here about discussing the issue with him, and why it bothers you.

Perhaps there’s some medication hubby could take to lower his sexual anxiety.

I certainly had the impression from your OP that the meds were a one shot deal to help with the PPD. Since it appears that the meds will be permanent, you’re going to have to help your husband learn to deal with it, and you’re going to have to learn to deal with his issues. Or not. Do you guys talk about this, or just take pot-shots at each other?

Reminds me of how Paxil is prescribed for social anxiety, and one of the side effects is impotence. Some poor guy takes it and finally overcomes his anxiety enough to hook up with a woman, and it’s wet-noodle-ville.

Actually, the form of impotence I experienced under Paxil was just the opposite. I had plenty of machinery but climax just wouldn’t come. With practice I was able to work through the problem over time. I wonder if the OP might use a similar technique?

Depending on the woman, of course, experiences will differ. But from things I’ve read, it’s common for the SSRIs to completely shut down a woman sexually. As in, sex becomes sort of incomprehensible. Obviously the OP isn’t quite that bad off, but I think the problem is usually much more profound in women.

Classic. Absolutely classic. Kudos.

Yeah, me too, as I mentioned before. But that would still be depressing for the hypothetical guy who uses Paxil to overcome social anxiety, wouldn’t it? He finally hooks up, but can’t bust a nut no matter how long he tries.

This thread is more evidence that women take what men say and distort into something that offends them.

Whoops, didn’t see the second post.
