I have the same information as you; I have heard the claim that rape has nothing to do with sex repeated a hundred times. I’ve read the research that indicates that that is the case and I’ve read research that indicates otherwise. The conclusion that I have come to is that rape is about both sex and power. Blindly maintaining that it is otherwise serves no purpose except to reinforce the delusion that it must be one or the other.
