The legendary guy who sold his soul was Dr. \Fidelius\ Faustus. Actually, it always puzzled me about this, since according to medieval theology, any sin could be repented of, so such a sale would not hold up in Judgment if repented of, but if not, then the very act of considering such a sale would be a sin, and therefore the devil would get the soul for free, without having to go through all the bother of providing willing, nubile females, large quantities of gold, and whatever else the pneumovendor was inclined to ask for. ---

I heard that one person tried to sell their soul on e-bay. Some guy bought it for $6.66.
