No, I think this is an aberration. It was such a clumsy spectacle of blatant, flat-footed bullshit. They didn’t _have_ to lie, at the very least, not so clumsily. Amazingly stupid and/or arrogant. Why risk a factual lie when innuendo and insinuation will haul the freight? The real professional political bamboozlers never take those risks! Still, the one burning question…far as I’m concerned, anyway…is who green-lighted the finances on this propaganda New Coke? How does Disney’s stockholder feel about this generous display of civic virtue? Republicans jump real funny when you mess with their money. ---

[/QUOTE] Don’t think you’ll find a lot of Republican money invested in Disney. but you might try and describe the dance of the stockholders who financed Fahrenheit 911. Hard to call the movie a lie when the information is collaborated in a book that Clinton didn’t publicly object to. He has admitted in interviews that he vetoed airstrikes. He’s given his reasons for doing so and nobody is blaming him on a level that matches his attempt at censorship. He’s just drawing attention to the fact and making it worse. So far, the FBI takes a bg hit in the movie. The only person with any complaint is Albright. She’s been accused of alerting Pakistan about the missile attacks. ---

Of course, one should mention that _F 9/11_ made a profit. This particular excercise in propaganda was deliberately designed otherwise. And, yes, I do believe there are any number of Pubbies who would have invested in _F 9/11_ if they thought they would make a buck. Which leaves the question: who did? Who forked over thier money and kissed it goodbye? ---

That would be everybody. The real question is do you cave to moveon.ogre or do you run the show and prove them wrong. So far, I don’t see what the fuss is about. I don’t see Clinton taking a hit on this except for the self-inflicted black-eye he’s created by protesting it. The movie is about the event, not the individual. ---

I have to wonder what kind of hit American Airlines will take on their business now that 13 million people know that they’re the ones who ignored big ol’ flashing warning lights on their monitors at Logan airport and allowed the terrorists to board the ill-fated planes in spite of said warnings. Oh wait – that never happened! It was US Airways in Portland, Maine. Oops. Sorry for the confusion, AA.
