When the death penalty was reinstated people talked about it being used for the most heinous crimes, premediated murder, multiple murders, etc. I guess we’ve gotten to kidnapping (rape has yet to be added by anyone in a position to actually know) as being one of the most heinous. I disagree with you. ---

yes, I am a parent. and thanks a fuck of a lot for trying to imply that somehow, if I am not in favor of the death penalty, that I love my child less than you or others who wish death on this guy. I **understand** the anger at some one harming one’s child. I also believe in the laws of the land, which do not allow the death penalty for the crimes this man has been accused of. ---

Is “Emmanuel” a religious **leader** , with dozens and dozens of people living with and believing in him? The only “followers” I’ve heard of so far are his wife, and Elizabeth. Uh, **Kalhoun**? Please show me a quote where I’m being “vicious.” I said I lacked compassion for Mitchell and I called him a nutjob. Not cuddly-kind perhaps, but certainly not vicious. I also specifically stated that I was _against_ vigilantism and _for_ a speedy trial and justice, which definately speaks against your claims that I declared him “guilty until proven innocent.” Oh, and your flat declaration that Elizabeth “wasn’t raped” is premature. We don’t know yet whether her ordeal included rape – might have, might have not. Jess ---

If we allowed people to gun each other down in the streets to settle scores, we’d quickly revert to anarchy.
