I am laughing so hard, my eyes are blurred and nothing I might ask has the least importance- - -in the face of “which way is up?” and “If I drown, will I come to the top without bread on the water and cannon-shot ?” and “Why can I see fireworks better at night?” and - – - No time or breath to continue. Bless you ! Flipbustle ---

We’re glad you’re enjoying the content here, Flipbustle. But, no offense intended, this thread is an excellent example of why descriptive thread titles and links to the columns or staff reports you’re commenting on are appreciated. It helps us figure out what you’re talking about. I presume “which way is up?” refers to this Staff Report How are “down” and “up” defined? [What is down, exactly? What’s up? - The Straight Dope](http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/1671/how-are-down-and-up-defined) And “If I drown, will I come to the top without bread on the water and cannon-shot ?” seems to refer to another Staff Report: Will shooting a cannon cause a drowned body to rise to the surface? [Will shooting a cannon cause a drowned body to rise to the surface? - The Straight Dope](http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/2092/will-shooting-a-cannon-cause-a-drowned-body-to-rise-to-the-surface) The fireworks reference I don’t recognize. Since at least two out of three references are to Staff Reports, I’ll move this thread to the Comments on Staff Reports forum. I’ll also give the thread a new title. bibliophage moderator CCC
