Gosh, I remember when I first noticed the first Christmas display of the year, and it was November 11 – of 1992. So does this mean that Christmas will now begin around August 1 by 2012? Wouldn’t surprise me, really. ---

I was in Target Friday, and they were putting out Christmas decorations and lights for sale. I just cringed. ---

Something about it remains magical to me, and that something has nothing to do with merchandise. ---

Fargo ND. About 5PM Sept. 22 Entered local Kmart. Christmas trees, lights decorations, stuffed Santas. I heard three other people distinctly comment on how flipping early it was for this crap to start. My wife mentioned all the people we still had to buy presents for. Bastards. This should really be in the Pit. ---

The week before last I got my memo about the office Xmas party. Grocery stores around here have had the Halloween stuff out for about two weeks - how are they going to squeeze in Thanksgiving? ---

How the fuck can you have XMAS shit out if we haven’t even had Halloween shit out yet? I thought if you did that you would break one of the immutable laws of physics therby causing the entire universe to collapse in on itself as a black hole. There are these stickers they sell at this one site (I ferget the 'zat one, but I’ll get back ter ya on dat) that, they’re perdy big stickers too, they have this one housewife on heroic sillhouette (possibly with a bazooka), and it says “Boycot Christmas!”. Yeah. They were pretty neat. If I ever see them again I’ll show them to you all. ---
