Labor Day. A holiday that doesn’t have one fucking thing to do with our holy and sacred military. On Facebook, a shot of Arlington telling us we’re all free because of them. Fuck that shit, do we have to suck their fucking dicks every fucking holiday? ---

He trained every day in order to be prepared _just in case_ he was needed. He did hundreds of “practice” jumps from airplanes in all sorts of intentionally difficult conditions (night, low altitude, etc). He lost a good friend in a training accident. I’m not pro-military in general, but I appreciate what he did. Never been in a union, never will. I’ve always made decent money because I’ve been willing to bust my ass when necessary. It’s a job that needs to be done, like doctors, nurses, teachers, garbage collectors, etc. I just get sick of people acting like the military should have a monopoly on our esteem. ---

Dropped a pine tree on my house (right over where my wife and kids were sleeping! :eek:), destroyed my fence, and generally fucked a bunch of shit up. I got power back last night at 9:45 (72 hours after losing it). I have friends who STILL don’t have power. Overall, we were relatively lucky. Nobody hurt and we were prepared for an outage (although the fun was over after about hour 40 after that it just sucked).
