Well, since you’re a Doper, you can count on emotional backup from the rest of us. I have no idea what kind of things you’re dealing with specifically (for all I know, the post above represents the absolute maximum that you find yourself capable of sharing), or what kind of coping mechanisms you’ve been employing. BUT, we do one of these mini-rants threads every month, and a lot of people, by getting things off their chests, seem to find it helps them get those things out of their systems. Feeling super irritated by people who cannot tell the difference between someone stating a fact and someone stating their opinion. If I say, the church teaches X or that law allows for Y, it is not the same thing as me saying I heartily approve of X and Y. :rolleyes: ---

It’s a damn good thing my chainsaw is not in working order right now…I would dearly love to cut down the caterpillar-infested tree that hangs over my driveway and torch those little motherfuckers. The copious amount of shit they produce has strained my driveway and, as I just discovered, has been eating the paint on the hood of my Jeep. (In case anybody is wondering, the HOA frowns upon tree cutting. The town, on the other hand, doesn’t care as long as the tree in question is not old or on “historic” property.) ---

Well, just wait until the caterpillars make their cocoons; you can unravel the silk, and weave it into fabric to make a car cover! BTW, how do you “torch” things with a chainsaw? Do you use the chainsaw to cut two sticks off the tree, then rub the sticks together to make a fire? ---

I’m very glad it’s not a webworm infestation though…I’ve seen several trees in the area absolutely consumed by the things. On the other hand, I’m told the webs are spun tight enough to contain the poo. Oh, and the torching would take place after the tree is cut down with the chainsaw (gotta keep it away from the neighbor’s house). 😃 ---

You know what’s going to happen when you pull halfway out onto a fairly fast, busy roadway and then just stop? Someone is going to hit you. My poor baby now has a big crunch in the front right fender. ☹ If she’d sped up and got into the lane, no problem. If she’d backed up or not come out until the way was clear, no problem, but she saw me coming in the lane (honking my head off) and just stopped. I tried to brake and almost made it, but I needed about five more feet. The kicker? She was in a rental car - hers is in the shop getting repaired from a previous collision. :rolleyes: ---

I have a great picture in my head now, though, of someone with a flaming chainsaw hacking away at a tree and someone else weaving a Jeep cover nearby. ---

For people who must deal with Lernaean hydras, a flaming chainsaw sounds like the way to deal with them. ---

I suspect that once it launches out of beta and they get the first-implmentation jitters out of the way, it will become “optional” in the sense that you can avoid it if you wish, but it will be the default option. I think it will help lines in the sense that you can actually choose to set up fastpass options up to 60 days before your visit, so no more worrying about running to Space Mountain or whatever at the sart of the day to try and get a fastpass before they run out. Also, the whole thing is tied into their new App–I presume they can be used to get more accurate timers on current lines than the old “ask a guest to carry a red token through the line” method, and update that information to the app so that anyone will be able to get much more accurate information of line length, so you know where and where not to go. ---

Steve, our house feral, is looking a little peaked\*. When cats start to look sick, they probably are very sick. It won’t be much of a problem to trap him and take him to the vet, it won’t be much of a problem for the vet to sedate him for the exam. Treating him for something that just takes a shot will be doable. There is no way that we can medicate this cat for a chronic problem. Well, its possible that we can drug his food, but I’ve never had much success with that in the past and Bill hasn’t either. I hate the idea of having to put Steve down, he had adjusted so well to being a house cat. He’s still a wild animal, however, and would rip me to shreds the first time I tried to try to him a pill. We both have bonded with Steve in a strange way, so we are sad. \*fur looks thin and he’s just got an off look to him. ---
