I started the Gretchen Lowell series by Chelsea Cain and really have liked the first three so far. The first one is called _Heartsick_ and you can check out a synopsis here: [_Heartsick_](http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/657034.Heartsick).

There are five books in the series (not sure if there will be more), but I’ve only read three so far. So far so good for me. Worth a look-see for your friend.

> _The Doll’s House_, a graphic novel by Neil Gaiman with various artists including Michael Zulli and Mike Dringenberg, has a chapter called “The Collectors.” It’s pretty chilling and the rest of the novel, especially “Men of Good Fortune,” is excellent, too.

Upon hearing I was finally reading _Sandman_, the series you’re referring to here, a friend asked, “Have you met the Corinthian yet?”

I replied, “I don’t think so.”

To which he replied, “Then you haven’t. You’ll know. And you’ll never forget.”
Truer words were never spoken.

> As I recall, the John Sanford “Prey” books are along the lines of serial killer novels.

The first one is.

Several of Michael Connelly’s books deal with serial killers, but _Blood Work_ remains one of his best and is an excellent stand-alone read in his Harry Bosch universe. Please do not judge it by the abortion of a movie that Clint Eastwood made from it.

I guess he’s more of a psychotic killer author than a serial killer author.
