Series you once liked but now cannot stand

She’s 42. I doubt she’ll change at this point.

Chuck, fading interest last season and haven’t watched any this season. 1/2 season renewals and shark-jumping romance twists killed the coherency of its fictional universe for me. I realized I was only watching because: Timothy Dalton was hilarious, and Yvonne Stakowski was hot.

House, the credibility of the character relationships fell apart, and a show already lacking in good supporting characters lost too much when Cuddy left.

American Idol, the veneer of “young kids sing their grandparent’s music to pursue later pre-packaged recording shovelware” grew too thin.

Dexter: First two seasons were great and then it just slid down the rated pg hill. It has become a parody of itself…
examples: every time he went on a kill Rita would call on his cell because they baby is crying, or Angel’s stupid hat and Hawaiian shirts, or how Miami Homicide makes all these amazing connections yet it hasnt dawned on them Miami has the most high profile serial killings in all of human history in one city. Even his kills are uninteresting, using the same method ritually. Of course the facial laceration to extract a blood sample is cool, but I remember the first two seasons he mixed up the actual methods.

But my biggest gripe is that the ever so clever and careful Dexter leaves video messages on his victim’s phone, sits in his car outside his victim’s houses, and just really doing things which were unthinkable and opposite his character’s traditional modus operandi.

The episodes with Doakes were my favorite. They could have milked that character for a couple more seasons easily.

Lastly, Dexter has become more of an action hero than the stealthy genius killer who shared his twisted thoughts.
Alan Dean Foster’s Spellsinger novels. I was addicted back in college, but when I recently found and decided to reread them I couldn’t get through the first. My taste just changed, I guess.
