I agree about The Pacific. It’s worth watching in its own right, but it isn’t up to the standrd of Band of Brothers. We have been watching **Invincible** , a cartoon superhero show definitely aimed at adults. It’s funny, violent, and the voice actors are a collection of top hollywood talent. Recommended. We are still enjoying this season of **The Gilded Age**. ---

**The Fall of the House of Usher** on Netflix was a fun ride. As Roger Corman proved 60 years ago, the only way to go with Edgar Allen Poe cinematically is waaay over the top. My wife is from the UK and not very familiar with Poe’s tales and verse but was still entertained. I had the opportunity to impress her by simultaneously reciting many lines of verse from memory. ---

I binged season one of **Broadchurch**. Really enjoyed it. Now I see that there is a season two and three, but they aren’t free. Damn. Debating whether or not to watch. ---

Back for my own thrice-yearly update: Against my better judgement, I went back to _Criminal Minds_ and finished season 10. I can’t stand glossy procedurals, but inexplicably I still kind of enjoy this one. More cinematic than teevee, though it was a miniseries, I FINALLY finished watching all fifteen hours of _Berlin Alexanderplatz_. I feel like I’ve really accomplished something there. The other week one of my local used book/movie shops had a gleaming second-hand copy of _The Prisoner_ on BluRay and I jumped at it. I’m halfway through and man, do I love it. Also, the picture quality (it’s released by A&E, I think), is just spectacular, the remastering is as good as anything I’ve seen from that era. Going to finish marathoning the series then watch it again with the commentary tracks. ---

Finished: **Welcome to Wrexham**. The thing about this is that you can easily find out how it’s going to end by simply looking at the current football league tables, but Ryan and Rob do tell excellent stories along the way. Even if you don’t care about football/soccer, this is a compelling series about people. Started (anime): **To Be Heroine**. Well, a trial subscription to PBS is $1.50 for the first month, so I’m in. I’m 3 episodes into season two and am surprised it’s just a continuation of season one. ---

Just finished the first episode of _Boat Story_. Violent dark comedy with a bit of a _Fargo_ feel to it. The narration reminds me a bit of _Pushing Daisies_ (though that’s about the only similarity).
