Watched the first episode of **Bookie** (HBO), and was amused/intrigued enough that we’ll most likely stay with it Sebastian Maniscalco plays an old school bookie – about to be out of business when sports betting is made legal, although that hasn’t happened yet. Also with Jorge Garcia as a pot dealer in the same predicament – the first time I’ve seen him since Lost (Hurley). ---

I watched the first three or so episodes of **Breaking Bad** , and I would say it’s some of the best television I have ever seen, but it was so dark, we decided not to finish the series. Based on those three episodes, I don’t know how much we can describe the protagonist as “gradually descending into evil” though, as his first evil act happens in the very beginning of the series. I guess he could get worse, and I assume he does, but in my book he crossed that threshold very early. ---

When Breaking Bad premiered, I remember seeing the creator describe the show as portraying the descent of Mister Chips into Scarface. It wasn’t exactly that, but I really enjoyed the show. ---

I plan to, but it’ll be a while. I can only watch episodes of Breaking Bad when I’m alone in the house. My wife has a moral objection to shows where the main character is a criminal. ---

My wife and I have been watching Breaking Bad for the first time as well. Implausible, yes, but it’s intense and compelling. I thought the events of the season 2 finale were just a little _too_ contrived. But it was still great. We’re taking a bit of a break from it now. Probably start season 3 next month. Trying not to rush through it! ---

It starts off as arguably a jet black comedy. Certainly when they are trying to dispose of the body it is comical. But it shifts further and further into drama as it progresses. The second half of s4 and the whole of s5 are phenomenal. ---

WTF? Has Noah Hawley lost his freaking mind? Just finished E3 of Fargo S5 and I have no idea what the hell he’s doing here. It’s mostly incoherent bullshit and pointless music accompaniment. There are moments of logical plotline and then it goes off the rails again. ---
