Currently rewatching The Sopranos. Just finished S2. Great series, picking up new stuff every rewatch. Listening to some Sopranos podcasts as I go this time, lots of added insight. May take a break to watch one of my guilty pleasures, The Walking Dead. S10 just released on NF, gone this far may as well finish. ---

We finished Season 2 and the unrelenting sadism left us not wanting to watch Season 3. Are you saying it’s more of the same? ---

Season 3 was a different kind of bad. The main plot line involved water … sort of Chinatown-esque. But there were inexplicable scenes of the town big shots/indian casino management who get together regularly to go through drug-induced Carlos Castaneda hallucinatory fun times. No idea what that was all about, and stopped caring. ---

Finished a rewatch of _The Finder_. It had some stupid in it, but I liked the characters. The one season ended with several cliff-hangers, but was cancelled. And one of the costars died IRL anyway, so even if it got a second season it would have had to be reworked. ---

Currently watching _Squid Game_, kind of a _Parasite_ meets _The Most Dangerous Game_. Just started episode 3 (of 9). Can be found on Netflix. ---

I’ve been watching _Servant_ without reading any spoilers or plot descriptions (even [this Wiki link](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Servant_(TV_series))) and it has been “what the eff am I effing watching?” all through season 1. ---

Has anybody see **Ghosts** on HBO? BBC comedy about ghosts haunting an old house, and new owners moving in? I’ve only seen the first episode but it looks promising. It also seems that an American version is debuting on one of the broadcast networks. ---

The BBC original of Ghosts is good. I think the cast does a really good job. There are three series of six episodes each and a Christmas special. Tonight at 9pm on CBS, the American adaption premieres. I’ll be curious if it works; some US adaptations have utterly failed. ---

In the first episode of Ghosts (BBC) they engaged in trope subversion that I found absolutely delightful. For example: character is last seen entering a hospital. Cut to her partner sitting on her neatly made, empty bed. We think: oh no! she died!! But then you hear a toilet flush and she comes out of the bathroom. 🙂 ---

_Squid Game_ was a romp, it’s quickly becoming the talk of America, and I strongly recommend sticking with it through all 9 episodes. Also, there is a touch of _The Hurt Locker_ in this one too. ---

If you like the core cast of ghosts (Martha Howe-Douglas, Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Laurence Rickard, Jim Howick and Ben Willbond), not only were they a staple of the earlier version of the excellent _Horrible Histories_ series but they did a comedy fantasy series called _Yonderland_ (involving Howe-Douglas as a suburban housewife dragged into a fantasy world as the “Chosen One”, and a **lot** of Muppets) and also the Shakespearean comedy film _Bill_. They’re fun in pretty much everything they’re in. Not sure how it will translate to the US; as always, the right cast and the right writer will be key. ---

And if you are that comedic bent you might find “Quacks” to be worth watching as well, lots of familiar faces. Only six episodes and no more on the horizon but I enjoyed it. ---

Kept a smile on my face from beginning to end (when I wasn’t outright laughing). I watched the American version last night and I went in with pretty low expectations but it was quite good. I would say if you have seen the BBC version, just watch this one as it’s own thing and don’t make comparisons. So far it seems to have its own charm and I will definitely keep watching. ---

**Only Murders in the Building** seems to be faltering. The episode with the lesbian cop and her pregnant wife has been done to death and seemed forced. The silent episode was, I admit, an unusual treatment. It seems like Martin Short is desperately trying to hold this thing together at this point, with everyone else looking like cardboard props. ---

We are currently watching **Squid Game** and enjoying it very much. We are through episode 5. It’s very violent and gory, so if that’s not your thing you might want to skip it, and it’s definitely not for kids. We finished **Lucifer**. Light entertainment, but enjoyable. And the series ended well. Recommended for just a fun hour of TV. The cast is what makes the show. We watched **The White Lotus**. Meh. Unlikeable characters, lots of rich people acting poorly. If trust fund baby ennui over meaning and life is your thing, you might like it. We are just finishing the new season of **Archer**. Don’t bother. The show is a hollow shell of what it once was. We have gone through entire episodes this season without so much as a chuckle. Disappointing. Don’t miss Archer seasons 1-5, as it’s awesome. The last few seasons are missable. Season 7 of **Bosch** is the weakest one, but we still like the series. It will be intersting in the future as it is splitting into two different shows, with Titus Welliver appearing in both of them as Bosch. We are loving **Star Trek: Lower Decks**. It’s heavy on Star Trek in-jokes, but it’s a really good standalone show even if you never saw any Trek before. My favorite Star Trek show since the original series. **Riverdale** is a bizarre train wreck of a show that somehow remains watchable. It’s the show we put on when we just can’t find anything else to watch. Lots of eye candy for everyone is part of the appeal, I imagine, and then just the sheer loopiness of it all has a weird attraction. You’ll either sort-of-enjoy it, or hate it. **American Horror Story: Double Feature** is decent enough so far. The season is split into two different, so far completely unrelated stories. I’d say it’s an average season for AHS so far - not up to the heights of ‘Murder House’ or ‘Freak Show’, but better than the last couple of seasons. ---

I think. The positive about the BBC version is there is a small enough group of ghosts that we got to learn their stories. Here, who knows? Okay, other than Flower and the bear / Isaac and dysentery. But, our seasons are longer/more episodes, so maybe they’ll flesh (heh) them out.
