I know Sirens has been mentioned a few times in this thread. I’m halfway through it and have no idea where it’s going, but so far I’m really liking it. I also just started a show called Trust Me: The False Prophet. It must’ve just come out today since everything I’m seeing about it online is only a few hours old. If you’ve seen Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey\*, this functions as a good follow up to it. It goes into what happened to the FLDS people after Warren Jeffs ended up in prison and left a power vacuum. It’s interesting in that the people filming it, one of them being a cult expert, convinced the locals that they’re doing a doc to give the world their side of the story after Jeffs was arrested. In reality, they were gathering proof of what was going on and turning over the law enforcement. Instead of blurring out victim’s faces, they deep faked a different face over them. The faces are still blurred in the trailer. In the show itself, they didn’t transition to the deep fake thing until a little ways into the first episode. ---

**Ted** Recommended. I saw both Ted movies and thought they were pretty funny. Not amazing, but I do recall some funny scenes. The sitcom is quite similar and does have a few great humorous moments in it. I prefer it to the movies, to be honest. The main human guy is only 17 or so and somehow, that is a better age for him to have a talking, walking teddy bear. Nothing here will draw you in if you did not like the films. ---

I hate-watched Succession. It’s incredibly cynical and dark, and it’s also boring and eye-rolling unrealistic. No way an idiot like Roman, with no social or business skills, would get within a mile of a C-suite. They’d give him a title like Senior VP in Charge of Strategic Planning, and nothing of importance to do. And no one in real life uses that much profanity. ---

When she was watching the final season I did watch one episode with her, and it was jarringly overfilled with the profanity. It was like the writers tried to stuff as many f-bombs into one scene as they could, and it came across as really fakey and contrived. Didn’t make me more interested in the series, that’s for sure. ---

You should watch the documentary about the Murdochs on Netflix, many of the events of the show are taken from their lives. ---

A BritBox series called “The Jetty” (2024). A police procedural more or less, but dark and moody, with an incredibly angry protagonist (her anger is aimed at the right things, but it constantly undermines her, and she is often unlikeable). The dialogue is fantastic, and Jenna Coleman is perfect in the role. I’m only recommending it if you can sustain that kind of mood for four episodes. ---
