I hadn’t watched it since the first run and was surprised how quickly I recognized characters and names. Most of them look much younger than they looked to me 34 years ago. I’m 19 episodes in and I had remembered that it was quirky, but had forgotten just how experimental it was. One of the most recent episodes flat-out shattered the 4th wall. There was about to be a pistol duel, and Joel interrupted that the audience was too smart to believe that either of them would die. Maggie complained about him breaking character then they all started discussing alternate script versions.
