Serious back pain advice needed

Thank you MF. That was certainly what I was thinking when I read Neuro’s post. And thanks for the advice, though PT is pretty much out (expensive) unless as you mentioned, the school offers it (which I will certainly enquire about). (Incidentally, when I did have insurance a few years ago, I was getting PT 3 times a week, until my back went out as a direct result. Not that that made me skeptical about it, but I just never persued actually finding a good PT). I did however, in response to I believe it was Carina’s post, find out that I do have access to a pool on campus, which I’m looking very forward to using.

Neuro, does this mean that the entire disk has not been removed? Is it common for people to need a second diskectomy?
