Been watching some porn lately, and I’m consistently revolted by all the spitting that goes on. Either the guy is violently spitting on the woman’s pussy, or the woman is drooling massive amounts of saliva onto the guy’s dick, or, for variety, the hard spitting thing. What’s up with that? It’s gross, and I wish they would stop.
Does anyone find this sexy?

Sounds like you’re watching the wrong kinds of porn. May I suggest watching the nonspitting varieties? Seriously, there is so much god damn porn out there that I find it very hard to imagine that any one thing is invading all the different types of videos that exist.

Spitting on the girl’s parts is gross.
Excessive or “violent” spitting on the guy’s parts is gross.
A little spitting, excessive saliva on the guy’s parts is good.
But it tends to happen in produced porn, which I got bored of years ago.

Well, if we’re talking “trustworthy free porn sites”, (By that I mean porn sites that wont overflow your hard drive (gigity) with viruses the second you visit them.) the whole spitting and choking on giganta penis does seem to be a theme these days.
This is of course, all according to a friend of mine. I wouldn’t know personally.

Yeah, actually I’m talking about rented porn DVDs. Hard to screen them first to eliminate those with the icky spitting, and I don’t think we’ve seen one in ages that didn’t include it.

Do I find it sexy? Yes. Do I practice it? No. There are many things I find sexy in porn that would turn me off in real life. This is one of them.

By the way, when you french kiss, you’re intermingling your spit with that of your partner, so it’s not as if having their spit in your mouth is objectionable, it’s just the delivery mechanism. Which is kind of silly, really. Why is it OK if it’s transferred directly by tongue, but not if it’s sent remotely?
Also, we’ve each had our mouths and tongues on and in each other’s bodies in every imaginable location, so spit/saliva seems pretty tame by comparison.

No, it’s a real turn-off, as is the forced “gagging” accompanied by dripping strings of mucous saliva and, in a couple of cases that I saw, actual vomiting.
I find that cringing sympathy for the female performers is not the best “male enhancement.”

I think that now more than ever, porn has a huge impact on what real people do in bed. In the past, porn wasn’t nearly as accessible as now through the web. People that didn’t really get into porn or stuck with mainstream porn probably were never exposed to many of the acts that others may have been doing. These days, everyone has unlimited, almost-free access to everything. And those curious enough to get online to watch porn are probably going to be curious enough to view some things that look different. And predictably, many people will actually be attracted to the new things to which they’ve been exposed.
I’ve been noticing the changes first hand, since I was married for 5 years until a couple of years ago. The things that single women do has changed significantly over the past 10 years. When I was single before marriage, single women were relatively similar in how they behaved sexually at the outset of a relationship. Only after some significant time would they allow their own perversions to be exposed. Now I’m not shocked by what some of them tell me even before we’ve done anything at all. As an example, I’ve had a couple of girls request analingus from me the very first time. This would have been unheard of 10 years ago.

It’s hot. But to each their own.
To echo Jackknifed Juggernaut’s point: for all the bad rap that porn gets, I’ve never had a GF who didn’t come to enjoy it in time. A lot of them had the same old argument: it’s gross, it’s demeaning, etc. Over time in a safe environment, the reaction I’ve had has always changed to “Hmmm. . . okay, that’s kind of hot” or “Hey, that looks like fun, let’s try that!” or my personal favorites, “I can’t believe I wasted all that time watching Cinemax” and “Is it wrong that I’m turned on by a black man gangbang, but only in porn?”
Now, obviously anecdotes don’t equal data. But the reflexive “porn is gross” attitude is, IME, a cliche in itself. Most people _like_ sex, and most people have things they like about sex that they don’t blurt out on the first date, or even (sadly) their wedding night.
The great thing about porn today is that it’s a continuum-- if you name it, it’s out there. And porn interests & fetishes are as varied as _human_ sexual interests, and vice versa. But a lot of men and women don’t learn that what they like is “normal” insofar as it’s consensual and respectful (even when it’s _fake_ non-consensual and _fake_ demeaning).
You show me the craziest gonzo porn scene, and I guarantee you, there is not only a man who finds it hot to watch (or do), there is also a woman who does as well. And _genuinely_ so, not just to make her boyfriend/husband/girlfriend happy.
Now, the topic of whether there is too much porn in the mainstream. . . THAT’S another thread, and I’m willing to argue that there is way, way too much of it in the common culture. Sex has its time and place.
