Real quick. When you have 2 XP machines, you DON’T need to make the network setup disk. Just run the wizard on both of the computers, and at the end, hit the “I don’t need to make a disk…” option.
Also, under the wizard, what setting are you going with? If you’re using a router, then you need to use the " This computer connects to the internet through a residential gateway or through another computer on my network."
If you set up both of the computers this way, then you should be able to see both ways when you look at the computers on the workgroup.
Thanks, I’ll double check that. I know I chose that on at least one computer. If that doesn’t work, no biggy, so long as one computer can access the files of the other, that’s all I needed.
