There are Seven Deadly Sins. I’m very fond of several. Og help me. (Partially in response to [this thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=667796).) Poll to come. Do share. Edit: my favorites are definitely sloth and lust. I’m guessing those two will be pretty popular. ---

Sloth & Lust. Her on top doing all the work. I could probably even do without the other five, in a pinch. ---

Sloth, because the slothful have the coolest little circle on the spire of purgatory – running around and around, gleefully panting and in haste. From merwin’s translation, which I kind of like: ``` "Hurry, hurry, for fear of losing ``` Time through lack of love," those behind were calling; “zeal in doing right may make grace green again.” Something very moving to me about the coupling of haste with the promise of redemption – a symbol of the way many of we moderns may live our lives. ---
