I remember a friend telling a story he dated a woman with a butt so big he could not successfully perform doggy style. They would get in position but her butt jutted out so far he could only make minimal contact with the vagina and so he could only do missionary. I was thinking, this is wrong right? Since even if the butt is big when in doggy style position it should still be out of the way right? ---

Depends on the physical proportions of the person in question, but yes, with some women, especially morbidly obese, it could be so much space in between the outside of the butt cheeks and the vaginal opening that sex would not be possible, especially if the man has an unusually short penis. This might be one of those “a picture is worth a thousand words” situations… ---

Please, no direct cites. It’s not that uncommon a problem with domestic animals, who are sometimes bred into unusual shapes. And many years ago, i did lab research on “genetically obese mice”, who were not capable of breeding. But i think they sustained the line by breeding phenotypically normal males with young genetically obese females, so i guess it’s more of a problem when the males are fat. (It was a recessive gene, so males with one normal gene and one obese gene were normal, but half their offspring inherited the obese gene. Each mouse you bought came with a normal control for free.) And there are women who have large, shelf-like butts even when they aren’t terribly fat overall. I can imagine that being in the way. ---

I was gonna say–there’s no problem with big ladies getting pregnant, obviously. It’s the question about the position that is the issue. I know with one partner and I, it just didn’t work in that position, even though she _didn’t_ have a big butt, and we were both in a normal weight range. I’ve had no issues with any others, so I just think some positions don’t work for some people. Don’t know how much the size of the butt plays into it. ---
