I know how children are created - they happen when women don’t get abortions. It’s a woman’s choice, should be the woman’s responsibility, unless there is some kind of deception that led to the pregnancy. If abortion is ever made illegal (God forbid) then I will fully support forcing men to pay child support, even if they can show they tried to prevent pregnancy.
You’re defining giving birth as not having an abortion? Wow. I’ll just have to ponder that one for a minute… For me, going to work is not waking up in the morning and taking the bus. It’s not getting hit by a truck while I wait at the bus stop…
So, Badtz, you would be in favor of mandatory child support if abortion were illegal? What about women who live in areas without an abortion clinic? Pro-life nuts have shut them down in a lot of places.
Really? Since May of 1994, I’ve neither had an abortion, nor given birth to a child. Perhaps you need to work on your stance again.
There is one way that we men can have lots of casual sex without the risk of pregnency, it’s called a Vasectomy. It’s done on an outpatient basis now, local anestetic, a small incision, snip snip, and you’re safe. It’s significantly less unpleasant than an aborition.
And before you say something like “but I may want to have kids some day”, in most cases the procedure is reversable, especially if you tell the doc before hand that you may want it reversed some day.
I’m going in a couple weeks, any other guys want to come along, maybe we can get a group rate?
Unfortunately it is true that they are not always readily available. I doubt there is anywhere in the country that isn’t a $35 bus ride from one, though. That’s not much (I have recently been looking into how much it costs to have a baby).
My ‘where babies come from’ response was just another way of looking at it - and a fairly true response, as well. Having an abortion or not is the last decision that has a bearing on whether or not a child is born. Having sex does not directly lead to children being born, nor does getting pregnant.
