That has to be the stupidest idea of the television year so far. It will end up as 20 minutes of advertisements with a 10 minute show crammed in there somewhere. The show itself probably won’t make sense as too many scenes will need to be cut.

I’ve always wondered, why do the women in that show always have sex with their bras on? Is it an American thing - a hang-over from your Puritan origins which would render men incapable at the sight of a nipple-or what?

Well, we all know Kim Catrall is quite comfortable with nudity, but it occurs to me that the other actresses on the show might not be.
If you think the taint of puritanism infects HBO in any way, shape or form, you’ve clearly never seen Real Sex, Taxicab Confessions or G-String Divas.

I vaguely recall reading something somewhere that Sarah Jessica Parker won’t bare her breasts. But I’m pretty sure at least 2 of the other 3 have shown theirs. I don’t pay that close attention - I’m looking for fine male ass! 😃

Modesty of the actresses I would guess. I find it ruins the scene though since it stands out so strongly. It’s as distracting as if she were wearing a top hat. Uhh… actually that might be kind of hot.

All three of the leads other than Sarah Jessica Parker have gone topless (Kristin Davis only twice that I can think of, and briefly both times).

Kristin Davis did full frontal recently, but that was in the episode in which she converted to Judaism; the nudity was as she entered the mikveh. Other than that, she went topless twice for sex scenes. Cynthia Nixon hasn’t gone topless since she had her first baby (prior to the birth of her baby on the show) while Cattrall has apparently had no hang ups about being topless, bottomless or otherwise through the whole run of the series.
There can be a show with much of its impact without the nudity, but the language is going to be a major barrier. Unless they’ve already filmed alternative versions of some scenes, it’s going to be terribly stupid watching and/or listening to dubbed versions like when “Yippee-kai-yay m_therf_cker” in “Die Hard 2” becomes “Yippee-kai-yay Mister Falcon.”
And there will be some scenes that are going to just be ruined if they do that silly film cropping technique, like the fight with the young hangers-on at the party at Richard’s beach house. The melons and the naked breasts behind them _are_ the joke, if we can’t see them, there’s no point to the scene.

I think I read that they re-shot some of the scenes when they were originally taped.
That way they were covered for sindication.

It runs on free to air television here in a late timeslot when it is presumed children and the delicate are asleep and the rest of us can read content warnings. I take it that US networks have no hours in which they can show things of a more adult nature?
