I imagine that the OP was imagining something like this scenario… Guy removes lid from jar of Vasoline, etc., scoops out a quantity of said product, applies product to intended orifice, scoops out a bit more of said product for good measure…repeat as necessary. Sure, I could understand a bit of squeamishness here…at least in this day and age of freaky germs and such. ---

Actually, I was thinking Astroglide. It’s in a squeeze bottle with a spout thingy. GF applied it to herself, and to me over a condom. I’m not sure there’s really a huge risk of transmission of any infectious agents, but wondered if a) I was wrong about that; b) there was a _perception_ that there was a risk of transmission; or c) women would be put off on some level by a previously opened container. What I really meant is that I’ve never had a one-night stand, and never knowingly had a mindless fling. Some people may be able to handle the emotional fallout of starting something which they know will be casual and/or short-term, but I’m not one of them. SOmetimes I wish I were, but alas, sex and emotion are pretty much inseparable for me. ---

**Lizard** , did you miss **Otto’s** and my posts? Sometimes it _doesn’t matter what your partner is doing_. I have hormonal problems. I don’t “make” lube. It just doesn’t happen, no matter how aroused I am. It’s not just for anal sex or for people who don’ tknow what the hell they’re doing, and from discussing this with my doctor there are a lot of women who have the same problem. ---

Is this a good time to bring up the huge bottle marked “ANAL LUBE- TESTER” that I saw at Adam and Eve? I was like “what, test it right her- in the aisle??” Anyway- yeah. Open containers- kinda nasty, IMHO. Single serving only, no matter what the device, liquid, or toy. ::shiver:: ---

Some, certainly. But I’ve never been with one of those women, and have never needed lube. I imagine it affecting a “lot” of women is relative. ---
