# Sex During Menstruation - Yea or Nay?

Ladies. Gents. Do you engage in vaginal sex during the female menstruation period? Why or why not?
In other posts, several people seemed to indicated that they did not. I’m curious about whether it’s a case-by-case issue between partners or whether there’s a general trend one way or the other. Does the disinclination come mainly from the men or the women or is it a mutual “ick” factor?
My experience is rather limited, as I’ve been with fairly few guys who happened to catch me during my menses. When the situation came up, two of them engaged and one of them didn’t. The two who did didn’t seem to think it was that big a deal - we put a towel on the sheets and had at it. I tend to be a little less randy during my period but I still like the sex and I find it rather touching that he would still want to have sex during that time. I don’t know if it’d be a deal breaker if a guy wouldn’t, but it’s important to me for emotional rather than carnal reasons.

Not a problem. It also makes the period go much much faster and makes it less crampy and such IME.

Yea. We don’t let a little uterine lining get in the way of some good intercourse. I’ll go down on her too, but will limit my activities to the clit. My wife gets hornier while on her period.
I did have one girlfriend who thought nothing of having sex while on her period, then with no provocation from me, hopping off to go down and blow me, then would climb back aboard, then back down, etc. It was both gross and sexy in a kinky, this-girl-has-no-limits sort of way. Fortunately she didn’t try to kiss me after she had been sucking on my bloody cock- wouldn’t have been interested.

Female. I’ll do it after the first few days, when it’s lighter. But I use Instead so it’s not messy (it’s messy even with Instead the first few days).

Hasn’t been an issue since my wife’s hyster, but back in the day we might do the period sex a couple times a year. As my brother in law says, a little catsup on the hot dog doesn’t hurt anything.

Female, and if I’m in the mood, then having my period doesn’t bother me - I don’t usually feel horny when it’s heavy, intense cramps & bloating tend to make one feel less than sexy. By the time it gets a little lighter and the cramps die down, I’m ready to go again, though!
My husband has never been bothered by it at all, he’d do it during those heavy days if I actually wanted to.
I don’t think it’d be a dealbreaker for me if a guy wasn’t into it, though.

It depends. Some days and some flows are ok. Some are not. Depends on the dude, too. I’m not offended if a dude thinks it’s gross. I feel little burn-y inside when I am bleeding so I don’t quite like intercourse at those times. On the other hand, having an orgasm does help cramps, but I don’t particularly like it when my or his hand gets blood on it. So all in all it’s a spur of the moment thing for sure, depending on my level of horniness.

I would, since it happens to be the time I’m horniest, but the two guys with whom it came up were squicked by it.
Except for one of the days, my flow is low enough that it basically counts as funny-colored extra lube (all I need is panty liners).

I’m just a sex-themed thread replying fool today:
I just don’t like it, it squicks me out. I know that makes me less enlightened or progressive sexually than I want to be but it is one of those things that just… GAH! Mind you, I have done it. Usually close to the start or when assumed it was over. In all cases it really bothered me.

Sure, no problem.
I’ve used those disposable menstrual cups. I think they say you’re not supposed to use them during sex, but I’m a scofflaw. They work pretty well if it’s a heavy day.

Male, yes. That’s what towels and/or showers are for. Though I would be a bit squicked out by really heavy flow. My partner tends to be a bit more worried about it than I am, so it’s never been an issue for me.

Nope. I call it “break time”. It’s the one time I’m assured of a back rub with no roaming hands.
