I’ve always gone for younger chicas, but now that I’m workin’ here in the big city, I’m looking to find a nice girl 29-36 or so (i’m 22), because I’ve been noticing that there are many single women in that range. How do I break into this market?? Do I just need to adjust the type of bars I frequent (I’m an Irish pub guy)? ---

I’m in good company here. My wife, the beautiful, smart and sexy TheLadyLion is nine years older than me. She was concerned it would be an issue but I’ve n ever given it a t hought. ---

My first serious relationship was with a woman who was 27 years my senior (I was 17, she was 44, and no it wasn’t _weird_). She taught me just about everything I know about women. From sex, to the simple stuff they don’t teach you in Health class. John Leguizamo talked about older women in his stand up special, _Sexaholix: A Love Story_. I strongly suggest you check that out, as it lays it all on the table. That should be “It could change you”… And I even previewed. _sigh_ So this is not a completly wasted post, I spoke to my wife about my comments above. She agrees with me completly and thinks that older women for a young guy is a good thing. Experience is a wonderful and blessed thing. ---

I’m 5 years older than my SO. It’s swell. Actually, I recently (and, No, I don’t have a cite) heard some research that suggests that babies born to older women/younger men combos are smarter. Interesting, I suppose. 😃 ---

Well, has anyone thought about the implications of this? If everyone goes for the fantastic older women, how are the currently young ones going to learn enough to be equally fantastic when they come of age? ---

I used to work in a department store in Torrance, CA. One of the women who worked there was old enough to have kids in junior high, and she was in a romantic relationship with a boy barely out of his teens. I wasn’t sure I had heard this one right so I brought the matter up–quite obliquely–with another store employee, and it turned out I was right. For the record, I’m past 50… ☹ ---

Personally, I think 19-22 year old “Men” probably pair better with 30-ish women as IIRC their libido’s are closer. Something along the lines of “constantly horny” 😉 ---

dougie\_monty, well she might be old enough to have kids in junior high, but a 42 yr old woman married a 14 year old honor student in Mobile, Alabama recently. I guess that brings new meaning to having kids in junior high… I wonder how guys get women to reveal their age? Also, don’t you think it’s suspicious if they say they are 39 every year for 4 years? ---

I know that as a younger woman I was, justifiably, worried about being objectified and used. Construction workers still holler, but I don’t remember the last time anyone actually stopped his car to talk to me… ---

About 5 years ago, before I met my current partner, with whom we have a beautiful baby daughter now… well I met a total no-holds barred Audrey Hepburn clone. And she was 11 years older than myself. And trust me, I’m talking deadset, dead-ringer Breakfast at Tiffany’s Holly Golightly material. Man, what an amazing 18 months. Sadly, the dreadful C word “thyroid cancer” took her away. Ahhh… but what a soul… the depth of love I had for that woman still scares me it was so intensely passionate and overwhelming. I used to make a point of shopping for various types of Chanel perfumes just so that when I hugged her I could have her scent on my clothes for the rest of the day. And what was it like being involved with a true Audrey Hepburn? Well, imagine what it was like trying to keep up with Holly Golightly! Some days bedazzling, some days despairing… mostly, with hindsight, like an endless sail on a perfect autumn day on the bay - knowing full well you had to pay for the credit card sooner or later. But oddly enough, my current partner, bless her, is like Miss Grace Kelly - both in appearance and demeanour. I’m happier, overall. And interestingly, she seems almost more mature than the Audrey Hepburn clone actually, even though she’s 13 years my junior, and 24 years the junior of the Audrey clone. Go figure. Certainly, the Audrey Hepburn clone packed more punch in terms of delirious passion, but it was really quite debillitating at times - and certainly it became heartbreaking as the cancer kicked in. Miss Grace Kelly on the other hand is blessed with incredible calmness and magnificent good health - as is our daughter thankfully.
