Plot: guy travels back to meet Jesus. Finds that he is, uh, learning-challenged. Travels with J and uses the time machine to perform miracles.

Need title & author.

The original was a novella in 1967, and expanded into a novel in 1969. It’s been 40 years but my memory tells me that the novel changes the emphasis significantly. I thought at the time that the novella was far superior.

Thanks. We were selling books at MileHiCon and I got the description third hand from a guy who heard it from another guy and wanted to know if we had the book. He’s happy now.
