# ShabuppShabupp? (I only have eyes for you)

In the 1950s-era dance song “I Only Have Eyes for You” (I think the band was the Flamingoes), are the background singers singing any intelligible words or are they just doing “ShabuppShabupp”?

Just “shabupp shabupp”. That’s why this style of music is called “do-wop”.
