I’d agree that her **reason** for ordering milk is nobody’s business. But it’s fair to say that the things you do on a date are (to a reasonable extent) the “business” of your partner, especially in the sense that communication is important when you’re getting to know someone. A first date is full of snap judgements, even if you’re not an asshole. Good snap judgement: “_I’m glad she’s comfortable enough to order what she wants instead of feeling obligated to drink alcohol_” Asshole snap judgement:" _oh my god she ordered milk like some kind of child lol what a moron_" Excellent snap judgement: “_oh my god she referred to the waiter as one of “those people” and then got hand sanitizer from her bag_” ---

The asshole judgment is to call the milk-orderer “an unsophisticated simpleton.” They get to live their best life, and their date doesn’t need to judge them for it; but it’s totally fine for their date to decide there’s no compatibility there, based on pretty much anything. ---
