Im no longer sure that Shags is a misogynist. Or perhaps…just a misogynist. He likes to talk about relationship relativity, but it seems to me that he can’t see women - or even people - as anything else other than “what role they fill for me.” Of course his mother knows how to reduce him to tears, of course he adores his daughters - Those are the roles these …objects …occupy. He doesn’t seem to see people as actual people but rather what use they can provide. ETA this includes his Nigerian coworker, that he also identifies by nationality, for some reason. ---
