It’s not that hard to understand, some of us think that it is very wrong for people to deem the darkly complected as Second Class citizens whilst according First Class status to our sworn enemies. Many of the Germans were not conscripted and eagerly volunteered for the SS and the Sondercomando. Get your fucking facts straight before you spout off how the goddamned Nazis were victims or how they treated their captured prisoners with anything like the civility that we treated ours. ---

This is a very confused pitting. You claim that Shagnasty is a racist because he said that German POWs were treated reasonably well in the south, and that this was not a bad thing? You claim that he is a Nazi apologist (or apologinist) because he said that not all Germain POW camps were horrible (although some certainly were)? I’m not seeing it. Try again. ---

Based on the links provided I cannot get on board with this pitting. I see no racism on Shagnasty’s posts to which you link. You may be correct that some of his facts aren’t straight: I don’t know. But I see no more cites in his post than in yours. ---

Allowing access for Nazis to bars, diners, dance-halls etc. whilst denying them to black veterans is confusing? ---

You seem to be totally missing \*\*Shagnasty’s \*\*point: as I’m reading it (and really, he makes his position pretty damn clear) he’s saying that treating people well is usually a good thing. He is not saying that blacks should not have been treated equally as well. Indeed, he may well think blacks should have been treated better than German POW’s: he doesn’t say and it isn’t relevant to his point, or the thread in which he was participating. ---

I thought it was common knowledge that the Germans treated prisoners of war (especially British and American soldiers) humanely, and according to the (then) agreed conventions. And “darkly complected”? Why didn’t you just say _abundantly melanined_? FFS. Or what \*\*Rick \*\*said…Pit Fail…bzzzzzzt…try again. ---

It’s good that the US treated POW’s well no matter what else was going on. It’s bad that the US treated African Americans badly no matter what else was going on. Pretty sure that’s all he was saying. If it makes you happy though, now over 70 years later US society has become much less tolerant of racism and much more tolerant of abusing POW’s. ---

Yeah, I have no love for the guy - he’s one of the few posters whose name I remember because I usually have a negative reaction to his posts - but I’m not seeing any evidence of racism or Nazi apologizing in your links. ---
