Moreover, no vaccine is 100% effective, if some unvaccinated genius like don **Hoogly** gets infected and then infects me _I_ could die through no fault of my own just because he’s an idiot. ---

There are a few people with legitimate reasons to refuse the vaccine. I accept the principle people can choose whether or not to receive the vaccine, but admittedly with some difficulty. The legal precedents in Canada are clear. But I am not fond of anti-vaccination in general. The arguments tend to be weak and are sometime irrational. Putting others at risk is irresponsible. This is especially so for people who work in industries that should know and understand this. People are fairly poor at judging risk, but better at ignoring advice or even rationalizing fanciful alternatives if this somehow serves their purpose. No one came up with a vaccine for SARS and it has not returned to my knowledge. Presumably, it just mutated into a benign form. It is not obvious the same thing would happen with Covid and my understanding is the variants could cause present and future damage. It is unclear if one has reached a peak with this - or if so, the effect of future pandemics. Hopefully we have learned the right lessons. High unvaccinated rates suggest many have not. ---

I find it interesting that if you ask questions about ones fears about the vaccine, you are anti vaccine. There are many reasons someone MIGHT not get the vaccine. I got mine but I understand why someone won’t. There has been so much mixed messages about them. It’s confusing. ---

There have not been mixed messages about the value of vaccines. There has been considerable noise on which vaccine is best, their efficacy versus specific variants, supply issues and whether to mix different ones, side effect incidence… but it is largely noise. Get two shots of whichever ones are being offered. If you have a choice ask for advice. ---

There is only one reason for people not getting vaccinated if they have access to a vaccine, and it is that they are fucking morons. I could not care less what happens to them. (They’re mostly just fucking Republikans anyway. Good riddance.) ---
