# Shameless attention-grabber from CNN

OK. The headline implies that a “Cyclops-like” fossil has been found.

However, it’s not the case. Just a tusk and some teeth. No skull.

Just some speculation that this ancient relative of elephants _might_ have left fossil skulls behind, and ancient Mediterranean peoples, _possibly_ seeing this skulls–with the enormous hole for the nasal cavity–mistook that for being a colossal eye socket for a one-eyed monster.
