We encountered a group of homeless people sitting on the curb, and she went up to them and let them pet her and gave kisses to those who wanted them (she has an uncanny ability to tell who wants to be licked). ---

Went out for a trail ride, leaving the barn at 7:30 with my gf and three dogs. The horses love this time of year; it’s cool, there are no bugs, and yet there is still some grass to graze. We saw a few deer, and the dogs did not give chase. After 2 1/2 hours in the saddle, I dismounted and was not in too much pain. Life is good. ---

While I was just having a breakfast beer in the front yard, one of our hens, ([a lace winged Wyandotte](https://images.app.goo.gl/dLjGnNCrqUmAsV2C6)) named Abby, went _running_ by with a peanut in her mouth. [ul] [li]Running chickens are hilarious.[/li][li]I have no idea where she got the in-the-shell peanut.[/li][li]I have no idea how she got out of the fenced area where they live.[/li][li]Why was she running?[/li][/ul] If I didn’t know better, I’d think someone had slipped something into my beer. ---

DV- ``` I know it's not the sort of happy that you meant, but...I'm going to have to go there because it's the first thing that popped into my head. When one of my nephews was around four years old, he discovered "Mr Happy." Not wanting to give her kid a complex, my sister said nothing...at first. Time goes by, my nephew and his new friend have many happy times, sometimes on the couch in the living room watching Power Rangers, etc., while my sister, myself, and my nephew's two siblings are in the house. My sister decides she must have a talk with him. Again, not wanting to give him a complex, she told him what he's doing is okay, but it's a private thing. My nephew would go off to his room frequently throughout the day. Sometimes, his little sister would wonder what he was doing in there and go in. One time, my nephew hollered, "MOM, K IS BUGGING ME!" My sister and I go in, he's under his toddler bed on his back, and his little sister is bent completely upside down doing the peekaboo routine. Later that day, she had another talk with him just out of curiosity. You know the drill (not wanting to give him a complex), she said what he was doing was okay, but she wondered why he did it so much. His response... ``` It’s the only way I can tickle myself. This activity petered out soon after. ---

Akiko is a Japanese Akita, which is a different thing than the American ones. I love them too, but unfortunately they are prone to dog aggression. Anyhoo, Japanese Akitas are more responsibly bred, which is why I got one. I can report that “Yes!” she is very soft and cuddle-able, and she loves pets, and meeting folks. Wow! I slept late. I kinda woke up earlier for a minute expecting Cat noises. Nope. They were both asleep in a chair in my room. Dogs were asleep at my feet.
