People, I know, are tired of threads being hijacked by people who just _have_ to point out what Google Ads said based on what they were saying. I’m one of those people. This isn’t nearly as satisfying as sharing the news w/ the people in the thread itself- where the ad is visible and the topic which caused the ad shared in by those people- but why not try it out? Assuming we always have these ads, we can just keep threads like this going forever (like sequential thread threads- Son of a son of a Google said, anyone? 😉 )- in a pit thread on the ads, someone ventured that people will forever point out what Google ads said as long as we had them, and I’m willing to bet they’re right! So let’s try to do it in one of these?.. One thread I had, [link here](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=337737), I purposely influenced Google ads (I know, never again)- I brought up a couple for witchcraft items!, including one claiming to link to the ‘largest witch and pagan superstore’ :D. On a recent GQ I started, [link here](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=337705), I asked about my nose and sinuses, and one ad says: “Addicted To Nasal Spray? Learn how Rhinostat can help you to break the habit without suffering” That is the damn funniest thing! Share yours, and try to tell people to share theirs here if they hijack a thread w/ one- and here’s a tip: to highlight and copy/paste the words of a google ad, click first on the space beneath the row of ads, then move the pointer up until you highlight your ad and probably several you don’t want, then paste it hear and delete the unwanted text. ---

Oh great, and now Google has relinked to the nasal spray ad I copied verbatim (well what the hell did I expect?!), plus another one!, plus it combined ‘witchcraft’ with the mentions of love to come up with freakin’ LOVE SPELLS. I’m lucky it didn’t link to an ad for magic cures to nasal ailments… ---

I guess three uses of the word meat in one post was enough to influence the ads. Meat. Meat meat. ---

[This thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=338411) shows what Google ads could be if they were super-smart: it has ads for diet pills and weight loss (were all talking about how much we weigh)- a smart ad would read all the responses and realize that it should sell us cupcakes :D. ---
