So my husband’s cousin is your typical, trump-loving, evangelical covidiot. She and her husband got covid in late Nov - early Dec 2020 probably from one of their megachurch christmas celebrations. They very sick for weeks but managed to stay out of the hospital. Never got vaxxed OF COURSE. Well guess who’s had omicron for the past over a week? She gave it to her grandchild who she is watching because her nurse daughter went on a cruise. Here’s the shittiest part of this. That poor grandkid has down syndrome. We have a contender for Covidiot of the week, maybe the month. It’s John Stockton PhD, former NBA star. I mean, he _must_ have his doctorate, seeing he’s done “thousands of hours” of “research” into Covid-19\*, convincing him to oppose Covid vaccines and to refuse to wear a mask at basketball games played at Gonzaga, his alma mater (the school just took away his season tickets). John is _lots_ smarter than the CDC and all them doctors and public health experts. There’s been some fun blowback from former NBA stars reacting to John Stockton’s moronic remarks about not wearing a mask and his repeating grotesque antivax lies about athletes dropping dead on the field from Covid vaccines and hundreds of thousands or even millions of overall Covid-19 vaccine deaths. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar had an intelligent response refuting the nuttiness, but I especially enjoyed Detlef Schrempf’s take on Stockton’s remarks, which was: “Bat shit crazy”. Detlef, you are my new sports hero. ---
