I’m a huge fan of animation in general, so of course I know and love Ryan Larkin’s [Walking](http://www.nfb.ca/film/Walking/) and [Street Musique](http://www.nfb.ca/film/Street_Musique). (I have both these films on my iPad.) But I also love the film that another animator, Chris Landreth, made about their friendship & the demons that plague them both, [Ryan](http://www.nfb.ca/film/Ryan-fr). Another short film that I keep on my iPhone and iPad at all times (because it’s simply one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen) is [Billy’s Balloon](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rag-RGSYq6I#t=3m05s) by Don Hertzfeldt. ---

> [@Wendell\_Wagner](#): > > _La Jetée_ (1962, France, dir. Chris Marker) > _Hardware Wars_ (1978, U.S., dir. Ernie Fosselius) > _The Wizard of Speed and Time_ (the 3-minute version) (1979, U.S., dir. Mike Jittlov) All excellent, especially the last. (BTW, for those who don’t already know, _La Jetée_ was the inspiration for the full-length movie, _Twelve Monkeys_.) How short is “short?” Is 33 minutes a “short” film? If so, then I’ll add [The Norman Rockwell Code](http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7284911909404544963).
