# Share Your Margarita Recipe

I’ve been trying to perfect my margarita recipe for about…five years.

Recently, I finally did a search on the internet.

I would like to make a margarita with tequila, Cointreau, and lime juice. I refuse to use any kind of mix.

Before, I used Cuervo Gold, Grand Marnier, lime juice, water, and sugar. I’ve never been completely satisfied with that, but it was always good, albeit different.

Now I want to learn to make a traditional margarita, which, according to my five minutes of exhaustive research, is silver/white 100% agave tequila, Cointreau, and lime juice.

That, apparently, is shaken in a shaker half filled with ice. This is then poured into a chilled glass.

The ratios are stumping me. I’ve read that the traditional ratio of the above ingredients is 3:2:1. But it can also be 2:1:1. Or 1:1:1.

What say you?
