# Shaving my head bald

Some of the men with shaved heads that I find excruciatingly attractive:

Yul Brynner  
Barry Andrews (lead singer of Shriekback)  
My boyfriend  
…and sometimes Vin Diesel…

Besides the sexiness, there’s another plus: it’s easier to stay out of confrontations because men with shaved heads tend to look more intimidating. My b/f, who is **not** a skinhead or a thug, wears steel-toed boots and a trenchcoat for practical reasons–and has been known to accidentally scare people who know him by coming around a corner unexpectedly. 😃

I started shaving the noggin about 10 years ago when I realized that long, luxurious curls looked totally stupid with a bald spot. I don’t know if it comes simply from experience, but I shave every day in the shower and it doens’t take me more than 2 or 3 minutes. If you keep it shaved then the time commitment is minimal. If you let it grow out and have to periodically buzz it with clippers then, obviously, the time commitment is somewhat greater.

You really need to start wearing a hat as well. I sunburned my head once and that was enough. The sunburn itself is painful but the hair growing back in through the burned scalp is torture.

One note on the thug look-use it to your advantage!! I am a pretty big guy and I shave my head and wear a full beard. It is amazing the response you can get if you play your cards right!
