I’m sure many of you have heard that after shaving (wherever) hair grows back thicker, more abundantly, faster, etc. I’ve always been somewhat skeptical of this and I was wondering if it’s true or not.

Welcome to the SDMB, **Kelvin**.

In the future, you might want to try searching for questions like this before posting them. I did a search on this topic and found the following four threads which might be helpful:

One thing a friend told me (he was a medical student at the time) is this:

If you look at hairs they are much thicker at the bottom then at the top. If you cut one or shave right up to the skin, when it continues to grow, the thick part at the bottom will now be at the top, thereby making overall hair coverage thicker and darker.

(Did that make any sense?)

Alex

Thanks **KneadToKnow**. I’ll keep that in mind next time.
